Cockpit Brewery
I promised some pics of my fermenter setup. Stainless steel coil from Delberg Engineering in Centurion (about R600 speak to Steve @ 0832890286). I think soft copper tubing will work just as well (R218 for 15m 1/2in @ Metraclark. You only need 5m. Get two friends to share). Two copper thermo wells from Builders Warehouse (about R30 e.a.) One for the temperature gauge & one for the thermostat.

I just drilled 2 12mm holes through the wall of the fermenter & attached 2 pieces of 15mm house pipe to the coil with clamps. This is all that keep the coil in place.

Cut-out in lid for coil exit. No need to cut as deep as I did.

The water tank is a 95L fuel tank from Sinvac Plastics. Have them cut it in half & share with a fellow brewer. It holds 45L & fits nicely on the hump in a chest freezer. The submersible pump is from Wikkies Pompe @ R145. With the chest freezer set @ 2C it will keep the Fermenter @ 10,5C. Cold enough to do a lager.

The thermometer is from Hanna Instruments in Jhb @ R113 & the thermostat is from Metraclark @ R60. You can use something like a Johnson A419 controller that has a digital temperature read-out. You will then only need one thermo well, but the controller is about R450.
