Roelf Loots brewed up the by now famous Big Ben Brown Ale (well it is famous if you read the Johanensburg daily newspaper 'The STAR's' write-up about the festival !). But Roelf couldn't be there on the day and so trusted his beer to two great friends who dispensed it on his behalf.
This kind of generosity is just stunning I think ! Its also amazing to know that there are still friends out there who can be trusted to pitch, I mean, imagine if they just ran off with the keg ? Tempting or what ?
This stand also distinguished itself by having a decent brew sheet on display so the real brewers amongst us could see how he'd made the beer. This tends to be a more honest way than relying on the person who brewed it, 8 hours into the day, telling you how easy it was etc etc !
Wherever you were on the day Roelf, thanks, we loved your brew ! And thanks to these fine friends as well !
