The Joburg chapter of Worthogs has been established for over 10 years and is traditionally held on the first Wednesday of odd numbered months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep and Nov). Occasionally the meeting may be moved out by a week if it clashes with other events.
The club moved its meetings to Hogs Head in Douglasdale following the closure of our previous venue. We are always delighted to welcome guests and those new to home brewing as well renewing old acquaintances.
Meeting start from 18:30 when members and guests arrive and pay their meeting fees. In return they receive a free meal and a beer. We will usually have one of the local commercial craft brewers serve one of their beers and share some of their knowledge with us as well as inviting members to share their experiences. We follow up with league tastings where members bring their home brews to be judged by and receive feedback from other home brewers. Our members have enjoyed great success in the Worthogs league, Worthogs beer festivals and the National Homebrew Championship in recent years.
